Which Course is Right for Me?
|
Schedule Associates offers a variety of Microsoft Project classes, either in public locations on an open enrollment basis, delivered at your location, or facilitated by an instructor over the internet, in order to best meet your needs.
If you are the only person who is interested in learning how to effectively use Microsoft Project or if there are just a few people (typically less than 8) in your organization interested in doing so, then our open enrollment classes are for you. We offer two classes, Project Management with Microsoft Project and Comprehensive Microsoft Project, two and three days in length respectively, on an open enrollment basis. Which one is best for you?
If you are interested in learning how to do any of the following in Microsoft Project,
- integrate multiple project files together into one,
- share resources across multiple projects,
- establish dependencies between projects (for example, if one project needs a deliverable from another),
- evaluate project status using earned value,
- create custom calculations for use within Project,
or if you are just interested in learning about some of the more advanced features that Project has to offer or would like to spend a bit more time working with and learning Microsoft Project, then the three day course, Comprehensive Microsoft Project, is the best fit for your needs. These topics are not covered in the two day course, Project Management with Microsoft Project.
If you are considering having a Schedule Associates instructor travel to your location to deliver Microsoft Project training so that a larger number of people can be trained at one time, then in addition to the two courses discussed above, a number of other courses are available for you to choose from.
Are you using Microsoft Project Server 2007? If so, then Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 is the course for you. This course includes all of the content of our two day class, Project Management with Microsoft Project, plus additional content necessary to understand what Project Server is and how to use its various components and capabilities in order to effectively plan and manage projects in the workplace. This class is only available for delivery at your location. Because of the variety of ways in which Microsoft Office Project Server can be set up and utilized we do not offer public Project Server classes.
Are you on a project team that needs some help building a Microsoft Project plan for a specific project? Our Microsoft Project Working Session may be just what you need to get a good quality project plan in place! The Working Session is a combination of consulting, facilitation, and training in which a Schedule Associates instructor travels to your location to work with those responsible for planning the project. Much of the time in the Working Session is spent actually assembling the project plan. The length of the Session may vary from one to several days, depending on your needs.
The Microsoft Project Working Session is not a substitute for Schedule Associates' two- or three-day Microsoft Project training classes and it's assumed that participants in the Working Session will have some knowledge of scheduling concepts and best practices for using Microsoft Project. As such, this is a good session to schedule after team members have particpated in one of our other Microsoft Project classes.
If you are in a small organization in which it's difficult to have a significant number of employees in training for an extended period of time due to the impact on day-to-day operations or if employees are distributed among several geographic locations, then you may be interested in having your training conducted online in a virtual classroom. Schedule Associates utilizes Adobe's Acrobat® ConnectTM Pro platform to deliver quality instructor-led training via the web to attendees anywhere in the world. Attendees need just a web browser and Adobe Flash® Player on their computer to participate.
Training online in a virtual classroom allows us to schedule shorter sessions at times that work for your employees while still providing you the same quality and learning that participants would experience in the physical classroom. Project Management with Microsoft Project, Comprehensive Microsoft Project and our Microsoft Project Working Session are all available via online training.
